Fight Stress with Dark Chocolate ...

High in flavonoids, which are lauded for their relaxing properties (chamomile tea is another great source), chocolate also contains phenethylamine, a chemical that enhances your mood. The darker the chocolate, the more healthy substances you're getting in your diet, so look for bars that are 70 percent cacao or higher.

COFFEE Fight Heart Disease ...

Heart disease may be partly genetic, but it's also largely preventable. We've all heard the same sage advice: To keep your heart healthy, you should eat well and exercise regularly. But those aren't the only lifestyle tweaks you can make. What you drink makes a difference, too. Here's a short list of sipping suggestions that'll help keep your heart health on track.

Here's a surprising fact: Coffee registers more antioxidant activity than cocoa or tea -- both of which get significant billing for their antioxidant levels. In addition to being a rich source of antioxidants, coffee has another thing going for it: It's widely available almost everywhere, which means you can quaff it regularly.
Moderate drinkers may enjoy heart-protective effects thanks to the antioxidants in coffee, which appear to inhibit inflammation and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. One large, long-term study of more than 83,000 women demonstrated a 20 percent lower risk of stroke in those who drank at least two cups of coffee daily as compared to non-coffee drinkers and those with a lower intake.

Sipping suggestion: Aim for moderate coffee consumption, which ranges from two to four cups per day. Drink less if you experience insomnia, restlessness, or fatigue.

Self-Esteem = Lifestyle = Just do it ...

Words of Encouragement ...

Friend, listen to your inner voice and follow it for it is wisdom and knows what is best for you. Learn about God and his plan for your life. Talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. Think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best-you deserve nothing less.
Care about the happiness and success of others and offer them all the help and encouragement they need.
Forget your past mistakes and focus on your successes encouraging yourself to greater achievements in the future.
Always do your best so you can be proud that you gave it your best shot.
When you help someone ask nothing in return, you will receive your reward by your Heavenly Father ten times over.

Do You Really Want Fries or Chips with That?

Potato chips and French fries have become a staple of the American diet. Unfortunately, the process by which potatoes are cooked into chips or fries alters their chemical structure and makes ingestion, especially in excess, dangerous. One chemical recently found in French fries that has garnished increasing attention is acrylamide.

Acrylamide is a potentially toxic chemical that forms when certain carbohydrate-rich foods (potatoes, breads and cereals in particular) are fried, baked or roasted at high temperatures. Just last month Health Canada recommended that acrylamide be placed on the toxic substances list. Although previous research has found high doses of acrylamide can cause cancer in rats, the risk to human health is relatively unknown.

Caffeine May Lessen Pain during Intense Exercise

Muscle pain and discomfort are a major limiting factor to high intensity exercise efforts. Previous attempts to reduce or minimize muscle soreness during exercise have produced relatively little practical benefit. A recent study published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism suggests that caffeine may provide a solution.

Twenty-five college-aged men who were either low or high-caffeine consumers ingested caffeine or a placebo followed by 30 minutes of cycling one hour later. The experimental beverage contained 5mg caffeine per kg of bodyweight, or the equivalent of 3 to 4 cups of coffee or Red Bulls. The researchers assessed the participants perceived level of quadriceps muscle pain along with exercise oxygen consumption, heart rate, and cycling work rate.

Is It Possible to Improve Strength and Endurance Simultaneously?...

Often we are hearing recommendations that fitness clients work on both strength training 2-times per week and cardiovascular exercise 3-5 days per week. That is what American College of Sports Medicine recommends, so the goal is to improve both cardio and strength. Knowing that we test these areas in our fitness evaluations and look for improvements in both areas. But can we really expect improvements in all areas? Maybe not.

Why Hire A Personal Fitness Trainer?...

By Louk Damianov, ASFA, AIFE,

Here are a few reasons why you should consider hiring a personal trainer to develop, implement and update your nutrition and exercise program. If you can answer yes to any of the following statements, a personal fitness trainer is for you.

• I do not have the knowledge necessary to train effectively to get results and/or eliminate injury, nor do I have the nutritional knowledge to design an appropriate eating program to get results.
• I am totally out of shape (overweight, fatigued or lacking strength).
• I need help establishing obtainable goals and guidance in developing a routine to see results because I am a beginner to the world of exercising properly.
• I need assistance in changing my routine because I am no longer receiving results.
• I am recovering from an injury or have a diagnosis that needs special exercises to prevent further problems from occurring.
• I need constant motivation because I always talk myself out of exercising or do not have the drive to work hard enough when exercising alone.
• I have not seen changes in my body on a monthly basis.

What is the purpose of timing and balancing your meals?

In order to achieve your body composition goals, it is important that you eat food throughout the day and balance your nutrients.

Why is it important to eat frequently and balance carbohydrates, protein and fat?

How do you change the world? One act of kindness at a time & a Heart...

"Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matthew 9:35-38

To Share His Love…

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 NLT

In the beginning, God`s limitless power, wisdom and Love wanted on thing. He wanted someone with whom to share his Love. So He set about creating the universe. Words flowed from his mouth, forming planets and stars, continents and oceans. Yet as detailed and amazing as they were, they were only the stage for his dearest and best creation: you.

God created everything needed for you to live and for Him to express His Love to you. And He created you in His image with a heart that could accept His Love and reciprocate it. God wants to share Himself with you. Today, open your heart to Him. He is waiting.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for the creation such an amazing universe and for loving me. Help me to know your Love and show you love in return. Amen.

“Let them praise the name of the Lord because they were created by his command.”
Psalm 148:5 GWT
